Dr. Bronners Hand & Body Shikakai Soap Organic Tea Tree - 24 Fl. Oz.
For hands, face, body & hair. Certified Fair Trade. Family soapmakers since 1858. 100% post-consumer recycled plastic bottle! Dr. Bronner's All-One! magic soaps. USDA organic. Over 150 years & 5 generations of soap excellence. Certified under the USDA National Organic Program. Ingredients good for body and earth. Organic shikakai imparts mild smoothness to the soap's lather, gently cleanses skin and conditions hair. Shikakai comes from the seed pods of the small South Asian tree Acacia Concinna and has been used in India for hair and body care for over 1,000 years. Organic white grape juice has complex sugars that nourish the skin, leaving it soft and smooth. Together with organic sugar, it acts as a humectant and helps skin cells retain moisture. Organic Fair Trade olive oil gives our soaps their velvety smoothness. To honor the peace the olive tree symbolizes, we source our oil from both Palestinian and Israeli growers: Canadian Fair Trade, founded by Palestinians who support peaceful co-existence and see profitable olive farming as a way of improving Palestinians' economic situation; the Jewish-Israeli Strauss family; and Fair Trade Sindyanna, run by Jewish and Arab women in Israel. Organic Fair Trade sugar leaves skin hydrated and smooth; gives our soaps their caramel aroma and color and keeps them from clogging. Fairly traded to support farmer, producers and their communities! Organic Fair Trade coconut oil creates a rich cleansing lather. Our coconut oil comes from our Serendipol project in Sri Lanka, where organic compost keeps the soil fertile, every family farmer and worker is paid a fair price, and the Fair Trade premium funds community needs such as medical equipment for local hospitals. Organic hemp oil is in all our soaps! The unsurpassed essential fatty acid content of hemp oil mirrors our skin's natural oil and makes our soaps smoother, less drying. We've worked hard for more than a decade to overturn the federal ban on hemp cultivation, and we believe that soon we'll be able to source our hemp oil from American farmers! Organic Fair Trade palm kernel oil comes from sustainable small farms in Ecuador. No rainforest habitat or wildlife is harmed, and no new deforestation occurs due to oil palm farming - rather care is taken to conserve and restore the local ecosystem. Dr. Bronner's was founded in 1948 by Emanuel Bronner, a third-generation master soapmaker from a German-Jewish soapmaking family. He used the labels on his superb ecological soaps to spread his message that we must realize our transcendent unity across religious and ethnic divides or perish: We Are All-One or None!. Emanuel Bronner passed away peacefully in 1997. The business continues to be run by his family. Dr. Bronner's believes in running a business that is good for its employees, society and the planet. As well as funding Fair Trade projects, we dedicate a significant portion of our annual profits to funding positive social change. All full-time employees receive up to 25% of their salary as a bonus every year, get 15% of their salary as profit sharing for retirement, and have 100% free health care for themselves and their families. No detergents. In the spirit of Emanuel Bronner's vision of Constructive Capitalism, Dr. Bronner's sources all main ingredient from certified fair trade and organic sources. These are coconut, olive, palm and palm kernel oils, together accounting for over 90% of our agricultural raw materials. Our goal of going organic and fair trade is to ensure that everyone along our supply chains - farmers, farm workers and workers in processing - receives fair compensation. Also, all farming and processing is done in a way that minimizes harm to the environment and sustains fertility and productivity of the land by organic matters. We develop personal-care products that are as organic and fair trade as possible. We never use synthetic detergent based foaming agents or preservatives. Sometimes this means finding suitable natural alternatives to common synthetic ingredients, such as shikakai, an ancient Indian seed pod extract that has worked wonders on skin and hair for millennia. Organic body and hair care in one bottle. Our Fair Trade & Organic Pump Soaps are excellent for washing hands and face - place by your sink or in the shower! The organic shikakai powder and organic sugar in this soap not only make it an ideal facial cleanser, but also perfect for washing hair. When using any of our soaps to wash your hair, we recommend you follow up with a lightly acidic conditioning rinse, such as our own Citrus Organic Hair Rinse (diluted apple cider vinegar works too!). Visit Lisa Bronner's blog at lisabronner.com to learn more about how to make our organic pump soaps a part of your organic hair care routine. Dr. Bronner's is Certified Fair for Life; USDA organic; Oregon Tilth Certified Organic; not animal tested; certified vegan, vegan.org; Non GMO Project verified, nongmoproject.org. Contains at least 55% Fair Trade ingredients. Fair trade Certified by IMO. www.drbronner.com. No foaming agents. 100% biodegradable. Did you know that organic sugar is one of the best things you can use on your skin? The reason is that sugar acts as a natural humectant, literally pulling moisture back into the skin. So in addition to giving our soaps a wonderful caramel aroma and color, it also ensures that the skin on your face and body remains hydrated, super-soft and smooth. All-One! Made in USA.
Caution! Don't drink soap! Keep out of eyes: wash with water 15 min and consult a physician if irritation persists. Do not refill with Dr. Bronner's 18-in-1 Pure-Castile Liquid Soaps, which can clog the dispenser and spurt soap. In this formula, the shikakai extracted in organic natural sugars also keeps the pump from clogging.
Good for 24 months once opened.
